How do I update the DS200 firmware?
The DS200 firmware may be updated using the built in automatic update feature. The automatic update feature will automatically fetch and apply the most recent available firmware update for the device.
To initiate the update process, log into the DS200 management console using a telnet connection or the serial management port. Once logged in simply enter the update command at any menu prompt and press enter:
UPDATENOW
Upon executing the UPDATENOW command, the DS200 will terminate all active connections (including any telnet or toolkit socket management sessions) before downloading and applying the latest updates. After applying the update, the DS200 will reboot and upon completion of the boot, the new firmware will be active.
Before executing the UPDATENOW command, please make note of the existing firmware version so that the version update may be confirmed after the update. The active firmware version can be seen on the banner line of the main menu in the management console (telnet or serial). After the device update, observe the new version number to confirm that the update was successful.
While the telnet and toolkit socket sessions are terminated during the update process, the serial management port remains active and update progress can be observed.
